Next Steps guidelines
The Next Steps work experience opportunity takes place over six weeks, commencing Monday 9th July 2018 until Wednesday 22nd August 2018. Candidates will be required to be available and take part in the process throughout this period – (see timetable).
During week 1 you will need to attend the college-based training at Coleg Sir Gar’s Ammanford to undertake all the necessary Health and Safety training (you will be need to find your own transport to attend the College campus)
Candidates are expected to work on a construction site as part of the Community Benefits Project for 5 weeks (Venue to be confirmed) See timetable for dates.
Mentors will monitor candidates throughout the process, and the successful apprentices will be announced at this year’s celebration event to be held at Parc y Scarlets on Wednesday 22nd August 2018.
The successful apprentices will meet with their employer and go on to undertake a two-year apprenticeship with either Carmarthenshire County Council, Lloyd and Gravell Ltd or TRJ Ltd starting Monday 3rd September 2018.
By taking part in the Next Steps Programme candidates will agree to take part in publicity to promote the good work being done which may include press articles, interviews, photographs and filming, this may be published or broadcast in the press, online and via social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter.
